Togetherhood?

At the Y, we are dedicated to strengthening community by giving back and supporting our neighbors. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA took the pledge to join over 140 YMCAs across the county to launch Togetherhood™. Togetherhood™ is the YMCA’s Signature Program for Social Responsibility that gives Y members the opportunity to select, plan, lead and participate in meaningful community service projects that benefit people and organizations right here in our neighborhood!

We know members, like you, have lots of ideas and the desire to reach out to make positive changes in our community. That’s why we invite you to participate in Togetherhood™. Collecting school supplies, donating blood, feeding the homeless, or running a park cleanup are just some examples of ways Y members and their friends and families can come together in service to their community.

To learn more about our Togetherhood™ program and how to get involved, stop by our member service desk or contact: Lauren Capaci at 732-442-3632 ext. 6506 / email: lcapaci@rbaymca.org

We look forward to working with you to better our community!

Togetherhood Project: 100 Back to School Backpack drive to support Preschoolers in Perth Amboy

Togetherhood’s 9/11 Day of Service Project was a complete success!!  With your help, we were able to collect 100 back packs filled with school supplies for Perth Amboy Preschoolers!  Because of you, these preschoolers started off their school career with all of the tools needed to ensure their learning is cohesive between home and school. AMAZING job TOGETHERHOOD Team!

Togetherhood Project: “I Love to Read” one-day reading event.

The purpose of the "I Love To Read" initiative was to bring the power of volunteers together to impact literacy in the community of Perth Amboy. This event was held at the Perth Amboy Public Library and featured children’s book author, Doug Snelson, fun activities and book give-away.  Leading up to this event, the committee collected over 600 new and used books to give to all children attending the event.  Thank you to the City of Perth Amboy, Perth Amboy Public Library, Pinnacle Federal Credit Union, Raritan Bay Medical Center and the CJFHC Central Jersey Family Health Consortium and children's book author, Doug Snelson for helping us bring this event to the community.
