SUMMER CAMPS

The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA provides safe, affordable, and fun day camps for preschool, elementary school, and middle school youth. The camp experience is one of wonder, exploration, learning, and fun! At camp, kids live and learn the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

What’s the Difference Between Summer Stars Day Camp & Enrichment Camp?

🌟 Summer Stars Day Camp (Ages 3–12)

A traditional day camp held at the Rose M. Lopez Elementary School and Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Center
Daily fun activities and special trips
Includes preschool and kindergarten students

🎨 Enrichment Camp (Ages 6-12)

A specialized camp held at the YMCA, with different themes each week
Smaller groups with personalized attention
Structured lesson plans, daily activities, and swim skill development

Both camps provide a safe, engaging, and fun-filled summer experience—choose the one that’s best for your child!

ENRICHMENT CAMP ACTIVITIES

Our enrichment camp focus and activities change each week, bringing something new and exciting while giving youth the chance to dive into fresh experiences and build new skills!

Wi-Bit Obstacle Camp: Splash, Climb & Conquer!
Get ready for a week of fun and adventure on our inflatable Wi-Bit obstacle course! Campers will climb, balance, and splash through exciting challenges while building teamwork, confidence, and perseverance. With water games, swimming activities, and team challenges, every moment is packed with fitness and fun. To top it off, campers will showcase their skills in a special Wi-Bit demonstration at the end of the week—celebrating their achievements in style!

Basketball & Soccer Agility Camp: Train with the Best!
Give your child a champion’s sports camp experience led by former college athletes! Our Basketball & Soccer Agility Camp builds speed, footwork, and overall performance through fun, challenging drills. With expert coaching from NCAA competitors and top-tier athletes, campers will enhance agility, balance, and coordination while gaining insider tips for success. Don’t miss this chance to train like a champion and take their game to the next level!

Carnival Pool Camp: Splash into Fun!
Dive into a week of fun at this Carnival themed camp. Campers will enjoy exciting pool games, water relays, and obstacle courses—all with a festive carnival twist. Plus, classic games, prizes, and surprises make every day feel like a day at the fair! Join us for a week of splashes, smiles, and unforgettable memories.

Martial Arts & Dance Camp: Learn New Skills!
Campers will learn martial arts fundamentals—rolls, punches, and kicks—in a safe environment, building discipline, respect, and teamwork. They’ll also express themselves through dance, exploring different styles and techniques. Whether kicking, punching, or grooving, fun is guaranteed. The week wraps up with an exciting Dance & Martial Arts demonstration showcasing their new skills!

Performing Arts Camp: Take the Stage!
This camp immerses kids in the world of performing arts, whether they love singing, dancing, acting, or discovering their talent. With a focus on confidence, creativity, and friendship, campers will shine while having fun. The week ends with a special performance showcasing their newfound skills!

STEM & Cooking Camp: STEM Meets the Kitchen!
Campers will explore the science behind cooking and baking while learning what it takes to run a restaurant. From chefs to managers, each child will take on a role, building teamwork, time management, and communication skills. The grand finale? Parents are invited to a special YMCA brunch, served and prepared by their young restaurateurs!

INCLUSIVE SUMMER CAMP
(Ages 6-12)

Participation in our inclusive summer camp program requires youth to have already completed registration with the NJ Children’s System of Care (PerformCare) and to be ‘DD eligible’. It is crucial to note that the duration for eligibility determination varies based on multiple factors and is subject to PerformCare's discretion. For eligibility details, please contact PerformCare at 1-877-652-7624.

Our inclusive camp offers the same weekly fun and activities as our enrichment camp (see the chart and weekly camps listed above).

**FEES*:**

Youth whom are eligible and registered for services via the Division of Developmental Disabilities will have the invaluable opportunity to participate in the summer camp program for two weeks, at no cost to the parent(s). Parents do have the option to extend the length of camp participation beyond the two weeks but will be responsible for all camp dues.

YOUTH LEADERS & JUNIOR COUNSELORS IN TRAINING

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Pre-teens age 13

Youth Leaders In Training is an exclusive program designed to give students (13 years of age) an innovative summer program that focuses on leadership training, teamwork, self-government, and volunteer opportunities to help build confidence and connections. Youth Leaders In Training consists of leadership training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. The program will give youth the opportunity to take the roles as leaders while in the Summer Day Camp. Your child will:

Meet other youth
Build new skills
Participate in your community programming
Plan for the future
Obtain innovative skills through Public Speaking

JUNIOR COUNSELOR IN TRAINING
Teens ages 14-15

The Junior Counselor in Training Program is designed to give students (14-15 years of age, grades 8 through 10) the opportunity to learn and develop leadership and program skills while in the Summer Day Camp Program. This program is for those students who are interested in learning about leadership and responsibility. The program consists of training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. Maturity and a sincere desire to work with children are essential.

All participants have the opportunity to shadow our Day Camp leaders and develop leadership skills. Space is limited.

FEE: $150.00 (Scholarships Available)
