Meet Pastor Berny Falcon-Lopez, Our Catalyst for Change Award Honoree

Pastor Bernadette "Berny" Falcon-Lopez is an ordained minister, dedicated community leader, and Member Services Representative (MSR) at Capital Blue Cross, bringing over two decades of experience to her work in pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, and social services. Known for building support systems from the ground up, Pastor Berny has spent her career uplifting vulnerable populations, championing community integration, and ensuring public welfare. She serves on the event committee for LUNA (Latinos Unidos Network Azul) and is an active member of WIN (Women's Impact Network).

Before relocating to Pennsylvania, Pastor Berny committed years of impactful civic leadership to the State of New Jersey, where she served the City of Perth Amboy as a Police and Fire Chaplain, Coordinator of the Domestic Violence Response Team, and Perth Amboy Housing Commissioner. Her foundational nonprofit work includes key roles at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, where she served on the board and rose from Bilingual Coordinator for the Bridges Program to Program Director for Homeless Services at their Center for Support, Success & Prosperity.

Alongside her lifelong calling to public and professional service, Pastor Berny has been happily married for 27 years and a proud mother to five children — three biological and two lovingly embraced bonus children.

We are proud to honor Pastor Berny at our 10th Annual Ending Homelessness Dinner for her leadership and dedication to building pathways toward the Perth Amboy community and the Raritan Bay Area YMCA.
