Raritan Bay Area YMCA to Join Millions Around the World in Celebration of Giving Tuesday on November 28, Encourages the Community to Get Involved!

[Perth Amboy, New Jersey, November 27, 2023] – Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement traditionally held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, will take place on November 28 and the RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA is excited to participate. Each year, this global day of “doing good” inspires millions of people around the world to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA encourages the Perth Amboy community to learn more about the local impact the Y has had over the past year and to consider donating as the holidays approach. Many people associate the Y with a swimming pool, treadmills, or even a place to enjoy a cup of coffee. But the true power of the Y isn’t found within four walls. The Y is in the hearts and actions of every neighbor who believes in the vision of a better “us” and a stronger community for all.
Thanks to the support of our neighbors, donors and community partners, this year the RARTIAN BAY AREA YMCA has:
- Provided over 3,000 hours of case management services supporting crucial areas of need
- Served and cared for over 50 seniors through wellness check ins
- Provided financial assistance to over 80 families in our community, ensuring everyone can access our programs and services, regardless of ability to pay
- Mobilized over 40 volunteers to serve the community
- Served over 700 kids in our out-of-school-time programs
- Served over 300 unduplicated households through our food pantry every month and provided over 3,000 hot meals to residents, ensuring that families and individuals in the community have access wholesome, nutritious food
“Every single dollar donated on Giving Tuesday goes back into our community,” said Lauren Capaci, Vice President of Social Responsibility. “To ensure that the Y is able to continue transforming lives and is working towards making our community a better place for all, each contribution brings us one step closer to upholding our commitment.”
Individuals, businesses and organizations are invited to donate on Giving Tuesday, or any time between now and then end of the year.
