March 20, 2020

Dear YMCA Members,

For more than 100 years, YOUR YMCA has been here for PERTH AMBOY. While the mandated closure of our facilities may have been abrupt and unexpected, the Y will do our best to stay connected to you during this time.

It’s more important than ever to live our YMCA mission of serving and strengthening our community. And while we can’t serve you in person, we have established several ways for members, students, and the community to stay connected to the Y and will be rolling them out in the coming days. Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook for updates!

Immediately, please take advantage of Y360, a new virtual initiative led by Ys across the country. It’s your favorite classes, top instructors and familiar faces from the Y community now temporarily available at home.

Start taking classes now!

In the coming days, we will provide a wealth of resources, academic supports and enrichment activities.

Tutoring (bilingual) Hotline to support continued learning: a resource for students and parents who need support…

Kids Home Fitness (CATCH) to keep kids active and engaged…

Early Learning Resources to keep the young mind stimulated…

Mental Health Resources to support those needing assistance during crisis…

Fun Programs and Videos that get your mind active and your body moving…

Links to Virtual Recreation Sites (Zoo’s, Museums, etc.)

Support for the most vulnerable in our community: case management and feeding for the homeless...

Faithful Inspirations that touch the soul and reaches into your heart...

We know you still have a lot of questions. We do, too. All of us at the Y are grateful for the outpouring of support many of you have expressed. We are committed to doing everything possible to secure the future of the YMCA, and all its services, as these uncertain times continue. Closure for any length of time represents a significant threat to our non-profit organization.

We cannot express how much we care for you and empathize with our YMCA families. We understand the pain and strain we are ALL currently experiencing. To that end, please know effective immediately we will place your membership on HOLD.

However, as outlined above, the Y is continuing to serve the growing needs of community during this health emergency. Should you want to have your membership be used as a donation to support the charitable work of the Y and the growing needs of the community, please email memberservices@rbaymca.org.

Also, please note the following:

  • Those currently enrolled in Before and After School will be credited toward future programming in the 2020 calendar year and there will be no charges to your account at this time.
  • Those currently enrolled in youth sports and aquatics will make up the classes when we reopen.

While we are closed, we will be busy getting ready for your return. We are already busy with deep cleaning, painting, repairs and maintenance!

We thank you for your support and understanding and we continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself and one another. Our community is strong, and together, we will get through this.
