Summer Camp


The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA provides a safe, affordable, and fun day camp for preschool, elementary school, and middle school youth. The camp experience is one of wonder and exploration. Camp is packed with activities that fill summer days and offer independence and adventure. At camp, kids live and learn the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Campers and CITs will be provided a healthy lunch and snack daily.

15% sibling savings & financial assistance available. Sibling savings does not apply to Before & Aftercare. 3rd party subsidy accepted. **The Y believes that cost should never deter someone from attending our programs. Week 1: July 1st – July 5th (Camp CLOSED July 4th)                                                     
Splish Splash I Camp

Splish Splash I Camp offers the opportunity for beginning and intermediate swimmers, who love to be in the water, a chance to strengthen their skills! Splish Splash I Camp will emphasize personal safety tips in and around water. In addition, campers will have fun playing water games and jumping on our WIBIT. Goggles will be available for purchase at the YMCA. *Camp CLOSED July 4th.

Week 2: July 8th – July 12th
Feet to the Beat Camp

Get the Best of both worlds! Summer camp traditions with the latest and greatest in dance moves.  Campers can dance motivated by their own goals and be encouraged by our creative instructors. A week of movin and groovin and shaking those sillies out.

Week 3: July 15th – July 19th
Slam Dunk Camp

Pass, Dribble, and Shoot your skills to the next level as you have FUN! A week of fundamentals, footwork, balance and conditioning.  Get exposed to new ideas, skills and training methods as you make new friends and connect with old ones.

Week 4: July 22nd - July 26th 
Splish Splash II Camp

Ready for more water fun? Did you miss the first round? Splish Splash II Camp continues where Splish-Splash I let off and is great for new swimmers too! Splish Splash II Camp will emphasize mechanics, techniques and strokes while building on their current skills. Water fun and WIBIT action included! Goggles will be available for purchase at the YMCA.

Week 5: July 29th – August 2nd
Ninja Warriors Camp

Martial Arts and Summer Fun Activities!!! Variety of super fun and a great way to introduce your child to martial arts. Learn fundamentals, rolls, punches and kicks all taught in a safe environment.  Emphasis on discipline, respect and teamwork.

Week 6: August 5th - August 9th
Top Chef Jr. Camp

Let’s take cooking to an entirely new level! At our Top Chef Jr. Camp, Chef’s will grow in their knowledge of the culinary arts, self-confidence and experience running a restaurant. They will experience new recipes, techniques and the art of cooking and creating.  On the last day the young chef’s will invite their parents to come to our Top Chef Jr. Camp restaurant for the full VIP treatment and 5-star restaurant.

Week 7: August 12th - August 16th                                                      
Team Sports Camp

Variety of Sports and non-stop FUN! Campers have the opportunity to experience several sports and learn skills to compete in popular sports such as Basketball, Flag-Football, Soccer and more. Emphasis of sportsmanship and playing with character.

Week 8: August 19th – August 23rd
Weird Science Camp

Are you READY? Are you SET? GO into the crazy world of experiments that reach beyond your wildest imaginations. Experience and experiment with wild and crazy science! Campers will add a little of this and a little of that, some solids, some liquids and anything in between to bring to life the slimiest, stickiest and gooiest concoctions possible.

Youth Leaders & Junior Counselor In Training

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM       Pre-teens age 13

Youth Leaders In Training is an exclusive program designed to give selected students (13 years of age) an innovative summer program that focuses on  leadership training, teamwork, self-government, and volunteer opportunity to help build confidence – and connections. Youth Leaders In Training consists of leadership training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. The program will give youth the opportunity to take the roles as leaders while in the Summer Day Camp. Your child will:

  • Meet other youth
  • Build new skills
  • Participate in your community programming
  • Plan for the future 
  • Obtain innovative skills through Public Speaking

The Junior Counselor in Training Program is designed to give selected students (14-15 years of age, grades 8 thru 10) the opportunity to learn and develop leadership and program skills while in the Summer Day Camp Program. This program is for those students who are interested in learning about leadership and responsibility. The program consists of training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. Maturity and a sincere desire to work with children are essential.

All participants have the opportunity to shadow our Day Camp leaders and develop leadership skills. Space is limited.
