The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA and PRAHD provide a safe, affordable, and fun day camp for preschool, elementary school, and middle school youth. The camp experience is one of wonder and exploration. Camp is packed with activities that fill summer days and offer independence and adventure. At camp, kids live and learn the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Campers and CITs will be provided a healthy lunch and snack daily.

Week 1: July 2nd – July 6th (Camp CLOSED July 4th)                                                     
Swim Camp
Swim Camp offers the opportunity for beginning and intermediate swimmers, who love to be in the water, a chance to strengthen their skills. Swim camp will emphasize mechanics, technique, stroke, and personal safety tips in and around water. In addition, campers will have fun playing water games and jumping on our Wibit. All campers will receive a YMCA drawstring bag! Goggles will be available for purchase at the YMCA. *Camp CLOSED July 4th.

Week 2: July 9th – July 13th
Dance Camp
Dance like a pop star while incorporating aerobics and hip hop in this fast-paced, high-energy camp. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals of hip-hop thru its many styles. It is designed for children who love to jump, exercise, and dance. Emphasis is on energy, rhythm and attitude. End of the week performance will show off their skills!

Week 3: July 17th – July 21st
Sports Camp
Why just choose one sport when you can have them all! Register for our Sports Enrichment Camp and your child will learn how to play multiple sports including soccer, volleyball, swimming, tee ball, kickball and more!! All campers will receive a YMCA drawstring bag!

Week 4: July 23rd - July 27th 
Martial Arts Camp
Martial arts teaches techniques while building character, strength and self-confidence with variety of traditional martial arts forms, such as Aikido, Capoeira, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi and Karate. YMCA Martial Arts camp builds coordination and balance. Uniform may be purchased at the Y, but not required.

Week 5: July 30th – August 3rd
Basketball Camp
Basketball Camp prepares campers to do more than win on the court. It prepares them to be winners in life! Players will be put through a challenging curriculum deducted to improve their technique and offensive skills. Experienced coaches will teach the following: passing, dribbling, shooting, Rules and Traditions of Basketball, Fitness and Safety Concepts and Character Development. Drills will develop hand-to-eye coordination. In addition, campers will have fun playing competitive games and will receive a team Jersey to keep.

Week 6: August 6th - August 10th
Cooking Camp
Cooking Camp offers a week of exploration in culinary delight. Proper nutrition is essential for the healthy growth and development of all. While most eating habits begin at home, The Y is here to teach healthy eating habits through its healthy cooking camp. These little chefs will receive lessons in cooking safety, cooking techniques, nutrition, menu planning, and the essentials for making healthy snacks and scrumptious meals.  

Week 7: August 13th - August 17th

STEAM Camp
You do not just learn science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. You make it. You create it. You build it. At STEAM Camp, campers will participate in hands-on inquiry based STEAM activities that will allow them to explore their world and try new things; all while having fun and making new friends at summer camp.

Youth Leaders & Junior Counselor In Training

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM       Pre-teens age 13

Youth Leaders In Training is an exclusive program designed to give selected students (13 years of age) an innovative summer program that focuses on  leadership training, teamwork, self-government, and volunteer opportunity to help build confidence – and connections. Youth Leaders In Training consists of leadership training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. The program will give youth the opportunity to take the roles as leaders while in the Summer Day Camp.

JUNIOR COUNSELOR IN TRAINING    Teens ages 14-15

The Junior Counselor in Training Program is designed to give selected students (14-15 years of age, grades 8 thru 10) the opportunity to learn and develop leadership and program skills while in the Summer Day Camp Program. This program is for those students who are interested in learning about leadership and responsibility. The program consists of training and actual work experience with a small group of campers under the supervision of a YMCA staff person. Maturity and a sincere desire to work with children are essential.

All participants have the opportunity to shadow our Day Camp leaders and develop leadership skills. Space is limited.

FEE: $125 (Scholarships Available)
