To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests, we kindly ask you to obey our policies and guidelines while inside the Y facilities. Please respect all guidelines set by the Y. These guidelines were created to ensure the happiness and safety of the membership and the Y Team. Failure to do so may result in a termination of membership.

Accidents and Injuries
A majority of the Y staff are CPR and First Aid certified. Any accidents or injuries should be reported immediately to a Y staff member. Protocol requires an incident report be completed no matter how minor the incident.
Anyone suspected of using alcohol or drugs will not be permitted in the facility and will be asked to leave.
Animals are not permitted in the Y facilities, except for Service Animals (usually defined as any animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with disabilities.)
Workout clothes (athletic shorts, t-shirts, sweats or leotards) and appropriate footwear is recommended in most facility areas. Street shoes are not allowed on wood floors or in pool areas. Proper swimming suits are required. Open-toe sandals and belts with buckles are forbidden on fitness equipment. The staff has the right to deem what is acceptable and non-acceptable attire as per our internal policy.
Children 11 years and younger must not be left alone in the building at any time and parents are not required to stay in the room while child participates in a Y supervised program; however, parent/guardian must be present in the building and be ready to pick up child at the conclusion of the program. Children 11 years and younger may not swim without direct supervision by a parent or guardian in the water or on the pool deck. Parents are expected to closely supervise their children and assist in enforcing YMCA policies for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons, this includes swim programs and lessons.
Please respect these guidelines, they protect your child.
Fitness equipment is cleaned regularly; if in disrepair, please notify the staff immediately. Should you need assistance with the use of any equipment, please ask the nearest Y professional. They would be glad to help.
Facility Usage Restrictions
Use of select areas of facilities may be restricted to certain age groups and supervisory requirements. Some hours of operation and areas of the building may be closed to members during Y special events. Members can generally use other areas of the Y facility at such times.
Food and Beverage
Food and beverages with the exception of water bottles are not permitted in workout areas. Some refreshments are provided by the Y. Food and drink, with the exception of water or sports drinks, is not permitted in the Y unless specified in a rental agreement.
Apply the rules of good sportsmanship at all times. Anyone who abuses the Y court property, or plays in a reckless and dangerous manner will be asked to leave and may lose membership privileges. Holidays and Facility Closings
The Y will be closed on the following holidays:
New Years Day • Easter • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Thanksgiving Day • Christmas Day
During annual maintenance, parts of facility may be closed for cleaning.
Notices will be posted.
The Y has the right to close facilities and cancel classes due to special events, inclement weather, and other Y-related programs and events. (The Y will make every effort to announce our closure on our website and local tv in cases of inclement weather.)

Y Membership ID's - For the safety of all members and staff, your YMCA membership ID must be scanned in every time your enter the facility. A one-time courtesy check-in will be granted as a reminder of our safety rules. Lost ID's can be replaced at the Welcome Center for $5.00. Broken/Ripped ID cards can be replaced at the Welcome Center free of charge. Those members who forget their ID's will be subject to a $2.00 per incident.
PART 2: Health and Fitness Guidelines
Health & Fitness Center
THINK SAFETY FIRST!
- We strongly recommend new members take advantage of free fitness orientations in order to get the most out of workouts without risking injury.
- Please bring your own towel to wipe perspiration off equipment after each use. Paper towels and cleansers are also available.
- Please respect time limit restrictions on all cardiovascular equipment. Sign-up sheets are provided for specific machines.
- All equipment should be treated with care. Please do not drop or slam weights during use. Always use control to raise and lower equipment.
- Always use weight spotter. Ask a friend or a Y professional to assist.
- Please follow proper protocol when using strength training circuit. We strongly recommend all members perform one set and let the next member take a turn on the exercise.
- If there is a problem with any equipment, please do not try to fix it yourself. Please bring any problems to our staff's attention immediately.
- Proper attire is required while exercising. This consists of athletic shorts, sweats, t-shirt and sneakers. Street clothes are not acceptable exercise attire.
- Personal Trainers are available for a fee. Only YMCA certified personal fitness trainers are eligible to provide personal training at the Y. Outside trainers are prohibited.
- All children over the age of 13 but under the age of 16 are required to attend a mandatory Teen Fit Orientation course prior to using any equipment in the weight lifting room.
Hours of Operation
Although we make every effort to give advance notice, our hours may change without prior notice. Hours may be modified based on use, special programs and requests for the facility. The hours may also be modified seasonally.

Locker Rooms and Showers
The Y provides separate male and female locker rooms. You may rent a locker on a monthly basis or daily use lockers must be cleaned out daily. Please secure all belongings.
Family Assisted Changing Rooms
Uncomfortable changing in Locker Rooms, please use our family changing rooms that may better suit your needs. Not available for individuals. Please see Member Services representative for details.
Lost and Found
Please leave your valuables at home; the Y is not responsible for lost or stolen property. However, the Member Services staff keeps items turned in for a period of 15 days.
A pre-participation medical check-up is highly recommended before starting any exercise program. A new member can schedule a health & fitness assessment and health history inventory review with a fitness staff member before the start of any health & fitness program. We strongly recommend annual physicals for any child participating in any physical activity. In the process of becoming a member, each person is responsible for signing a medical waiver during membership registration verifying to their best knowledge they are fit and capable of working out. If you have any medical problems/concerns it is your responsibility to get medical clearance prior to physical exertion. If a question is marked YES, the welcome center staff will provide you with a consent form that must be signed by your doctor before access to physical activity within the Y.
